The standard Project Directories structure is designed to hold and organize all the documentation generated during the design process on a project without the need to modify it in any way. Organizing files on your computer is just like organizing anything else. If we save files randomly to our Desktop, Documents folders or optional folders, then we waste time searching for files every day. Knowing where files are located is something that will save your editor tons of time, it will also be a huge lifesaver for your archiving system. Having a standard Project Directories allows you to work efficiently if you are in a team and also drastically reduces the risk of encountering technical errors which are ultimately going to hurt you.
That’s how we need the standard project directories. A project directories is the way folders are organized on our workstation system. As folders are added over time, you can either keep them at the same level or nest them within each other for a hierarchy. Nested folders generally make it easier to find specific files later, because you don’t have to sift through all your files at once. If your files and folders are already disorganized - it will take forever to clean up.
An effective and consistent project directories are essential to maintain an efficient production operation.
