Quality is an important factor when it comes to any product or service. With the high market competition, quality has become the market differentiator for almost all products and services.

QA-QC are the process intended to minimize errors and omissions and ensure that a project receives the highest standard of technical accuracy and thoroughness in relationship to the preparation of construction documents.

QA is the process that ensures that prudent quality control measures have been established, and the desired quality in a deliverable or service is achieved. QC refers to the procedures, methods, and actions that are routinely employed to produce conformance with requirements and expectations.

The purpose of QA is to ensure that the project team’s processes are sound and that QC is properly provided on every substantive project document. In other words, QA is an oversight function to make sure that QC is being properly conducted. The purpose of this plan is to provide a framework to ensure that:

  • Quality work is consistently performed and that quality deliverables are consistently produced.

  • Project continuity occurs in record-keeping and document review.

  • Orderly procedures are established to provide QC for scientific calculations, technical analyses, conclusions, and determinations.

  • Project documents have undergone the necessary technical editing, proofreading, and editorial processes.
